1526 Vikram Samvat (1469 AD), Guru ji was born to Mata Tripta ji and Pitha Mehta Kaloo ji. He stayed in this world for 70 years. 1596 Vikram Samvat (1539 AD) was the year Guru ji’s body transferred to the light of Akaal Purakh in Kartarpur Sahib. The sins of Kaliyuga were causing immense pain to all. Guru Nanak Dev ji cooled the world like a full moon. No one was able to win Guru ji. After being so powerful, he was extremely humble. Many great saints all bowed in front of Guru Nanak Dev ji, as Guru ji connected them to Akaal Purakh. Many great saints’ radiance became dull in front of Guru Nanak Dev ji. 1596 Asoo, 10th Vaddi (10 days from the full moon) Guru ji went to Sach Khand, near the Airavati Ravi River. This was in Kartarpur. His body was not found, as Guru ji went to Sach Khand with his body. One half of his covering blanket was cremated by Hindus and the other half was buried by the Muslims. Dera Baba Nanak is the name of the Gurduara that was constructed there. The Jageer (regional tax revenue) of the area was allotted to the Langar of the Gurduara by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Guru Angad Dev ji was chosen by Guru Nanak Dev ji as his successor. Just as a King changes his clothes, so did he change his body. Guru Angad Dev ji was from the Trehan clan. He was the son of Baba Pheroo Mal ji. Baba Pheroo Mal ji was a holy man and a Bhagat person. Guru Angad Dev ji’s mother was Bibi Daya Kaur ji. They had no sins from many births. They lived in the village of Hari. They did the Simran of Akaal Purakh, day and night. Guru Angad Dev ji was born in the Hari Gram, Mattay ki Saran, Naangay ki Saran. After that, he lived somewhere else. 1577 Vikram was when Guru ji was born. He came to the home of Guru Nanak Dev ji and served him, day and night. He wished to “play the game of love and placed his head on top of his palm.” He gave his mind to the Guru. He lived up to the words of Guru Nanak Dev ji, fully. Guru Angad Dev ji became one with Guru Nanak Dev ji. Guru Angad Dev ji had patience, just like the earth, and did not show his powers. He was omnipotent, all-powerful; and saw peace and pain as the same. Nobody could describe the glories of Guru Angad Dev ji. Shaishnaag (who has 1000 mouths and 2000 tongues) could not fully sing the glories of Guru Angad Dev ji. Sarasvati could not sing his glories either. Guru Angad Dev ji was married to Mata Kheevi ji, the pure. Guru ji had two sons: Baba Dasu ji and Baba Dattu ji. Both sons were Brahmgyaanis. Guru ji sat on the Guru throne for 12 year, 6 months and 9 days. In 1609 Vikram, Jeth Sudhi 4th (4th day from new moon), Guru ji left his body for Sach Khand, and placed Guru Amar Das ji on to the Takhat of the Guru. The cremation took place in Khadoor village near the house of Julaha. Julaha requested to have the cremation in his house so he can make a Gurduara there. Julaha was the same person whose wife called Guru Amar Das ji “Amaroo Nithava (the homeless)” and lost her mind. Julaha then asked Guru ji for forgiveness for his wife. The Kraeer tree that touched Guru Amar Das ji is still green today.

In the village Baasarke, in the house of Pitha Tejo Mal Bhalla ji and Mata Roop Kaur ji, Guru Amar Das ji was born. His parents were great Tapasvis from many births. They received the gift of a son who became Guru Amar Das ji. He achieved Brahmgyaan by serving Guru Angad Dev ji for 12 years. He became an idol of service. He was 72 when he came to the service of the Guru. His mind remained in his control and was without pain. He was 84 years old when he sat on to the throne of the Guru. He illuminated in the world. He sat on the throne for 22 years. He established the village of Goindwal and lived there. He made sure that nobody’s child died while he was in his body. The Emperor of Delhi had 22 Soobas for the 22 regions of the kingdom. Guru Amar Das ji established 22 seats of Masands to preach Sikhi in each Sooba. The glory of Guru Amar Das ji cannot be sung. He was a water-filled cloud that hydrated the entire land. His wife was Mata Ramo ji, who was a pious woman. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters. The 2 sons were Baba Mohan ji and Baba Mohri ji. The 2 daughters were Bibi Dhani ji and Bibi Bhani ji. The children were great souls. Bibi Bhani ji was with great fortune. Her father was the Guru; her husband was the next Guru; her son was also the Guru and then the lineage carried from there. Her glory is sung around the world. Baba Mohan ji was the elder son, whose mind was detached from all desires. He would wear a langote around his waist. His head and back would be bare. He remained attached with the light of Akaal Purakh and did not think of the world. He would eat sometimes and pick up a roti like a child. He was totally detached from the world and preferred to stay alone in his chabarra. He did not bow to anyone except his father. He did not bow to Guru Ramdas ji, as instructed to by his father, but he bowed to Guru Arjan Dev ji. He was in the state of “ahung Braham,” he saw his soul as one with Akaal Purakh. Baba Mohri ji accepted the successorship of Guru Ramdas ji. He listened to his father’s command and placed his head onto the feet of Guru Ramdas ji, despite being older than him. Baba Mohri ji became the leader of the Sangat to help them cross the world ocean. For 22 years, 5 months and 11 days, Guru Amar Das ji sat on the Guruship throne and gave many Sikhs the joy of Brahmgyaan. In 1631 Vikram, Bhadron, full moon day, Guru ji left the Earth for Sach Khand from Goindwal. He blessed many sinners. He was 106 years old when he left his body. He had 6 years left but he gave them to his servant: Guru Ramdas ji, along with the Guruship. Guru Ramdas ji was seated upon the Guru’s throne.

Baba Hardas ji Khatri from Lavpur (Lahore) was a pious person with great karma. Mata Khem Kaur ji was his wife. She was also a very pious and honest person. She saw her husband as Akaal Purakh. They had a son: Guru Ramdas ji- who was married to Bibi Bhani ji and from whom the Sodhi family grew. Guru Ramdas ji became the gem for the Bhalla family. Bibi Bhani ji served her father and her husband as the Gurus in Goindwal. She spent her whole life in Seva and Simran. Guru Ramdas ji and Mata Bhani ji had three sons: Prithi Chand, Baba Mahadev and Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji. All three sons were famous for their virtues. Mahadev ji was patient. Guru Ramdas ji saw Guru Arjan Dev ji as the successor. For 6 years, 11 months and 18 days he sat on the Guru throne. Many Sikhs received many blessings from Guru Ramdas ji. Many Sikhs received Brahmgyaan from him. 1638 Vikram (1581 AD), Bhadron Sudhi 3rd (3rd day from the new moon) was when Guru Ramdas ji left his body and departed for Sach Khand. Guru Arjan Dev ji was installed as the next Guru. The Sodhi clan was blessed by Guru Amar Das ji, at Mata Bhani ji’s request, to be the next Gurus till the physical lineage of Gurus was to end. It stayed till the 10th Guru.

When Guru Arjan Dev ji sat on the Guru’s throne, he completed the Amritsar (Sudhasur) Sarovar. He also finished the construction of the Harimandhir. He compiled the Guru Granth Sahib ji; by which many received Brahmgyaan. Guru ji was married to Mata Ganga ji. She was very simple and was a complete woman with all the virtues of a saint. They had one son: Sri Guru Hargobind ji, the carrier of the bow, who shined like the moon. Guru Arjan Dev ji was very patient and was the flag of the Dharam. His glory was sung all over the land. He performed many great tasks (157,000 Rupees were spent to buy the land of Tarn Taaran Sahib, which had a pharmacy for the ill) established Kartarpur, Jalandhar; constructed many Gurduaras of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s places; served Langar all over Punjab. He preached Simran and Sikhi from house to house. He wrote many verses of Gurbani. For 24 years, 9 months and 1 day Guru ji sat on the Gurta Ghaddi with his body. He was about 43 years in total and served two Gurus: 11 years Guru Amar Das ji and 7 years his father Guru Ramdas ji. He arranged his own play to be martyred. In 1663 Vikram, Jeth, Sudhi 4th (forth day from new moon), (1606 AD) Guru ji was martyred at the house of Chandu and went to Sach Khand. Gurduara Dera Sahib is established in Lahore near the Ravi in his honor.
