Oh my mind, I bow to you to keep my honour. Leave the vices and go to the shelter of Sri Satguru ji so you will be saved in this world.

Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Oh great Home of Virtues, Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, listen to the beautiful Katha that gives peace. Guru Nanak Dev ji took on his form and travelled on to bless others. As we travelled, we came to Lavpur (Lahore). Where the butchers’ lived, we came. Guru ji stopped where the butcher shops were. He saw the grave sin of cows being butchered. Recognizing the Tapp the Turks had done in their previous births, Guru ji stopped his anger. He wanted to destroy them but held back. He still had a little anger and said:

Sri Mukhvaak..

In the city of Lahore, chaos will break out in the 1.25 Pahir..27..

(SGGS 1412)

His words turned to reality. He spoke: “listen Bala, it is the time of the Turks. They are really strong now. When I wear my 10th incarnation, I will illuminate the Panth of Dharma. I will pick up weapons and wage war. I will lift the command of the Turks and stop the grave sins. The kingdom of Dharma will rule. Mardana, Bala, let’s not stop here. Let’s go!”

We came out of the city and saw a hypocritical Brahmin. He set up a façade. He prepared the ground with cow dung and laid out a grass tarp. He took his clothes off and bathed in the Ravi. He had 12 Tilaks on his body. He placed the Salagrama in front of him and did its Pooja with great care. He rang a bell in his hand and bowed his head, over and over again. After that, he took his Mala and sat down with his eyes closed. A cat would be embarrassed seeing this façade (while pretending to be asleep to hunt a pigeon). He was greedy for money. Many people came to bow to the Brahmin, seeing him sit in Samadhi. They placed money in front of him. Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji knew what was in the Brahmin’s heart. Guru ji spoke to reveal the façade: “oh Brahmin, what are you meditating on? The Salagrama is in front of you. If your Isht was not near you, then it makes sense to close your eyes and focus on him. Your Isht’s idol is in front of you. Why are you closing your eyes?” The Brahmin spoke hypocritical words: “listen Fakir, you don’t know what I am doing. I did the Seva of the idol and I bowed to it many times. By closing my eyes, I stop my mind and can see what is happening in the 3 Loks.” He spoke and sat in meditation. He was just showing off to people. He was filled with ego. He was greedy for money. The greed grew as more money came to him. To destroy the bad wisdom, the Master of the World made the stool of the idol and money disappear. After about an hour, the Brahmin opened his eyes and realized the idol and the money was all gone. He regretted and yelled out in pain. He got worried and asked the other people there of where his things were. Everyone said they didn’t see anything. Guru ji said to the Brahmin: “tell me what happened. You were happy a little while ago. What happened now? Did some task of yours spoil?” The Brahmins said: “oh saint, someone took my idol of the Salagrama as well as the stool with money on it. I am asking if anyone has it but nobody knows.” Guru ji said: “you said you knew what was happening in the 3 Loks. You should focus and find out what happened. Who would take it? See with your focus in every place.” Hearing the words, the Brahmin knew that Guru ji knew. He let his façade go and spoke the truth: “I do this for a living so I can eat. I lie and collect money from people. I do this to raise my family. People respect me when I sit with my eyes closed. The truth is, Sant ji, this is just a façade. The idol is my way of living. If you know where it is, please tell me. If you saw someone taking it, tell me.” Guru ji became compassionate and said: “let go of lies and speak the truth. Chant the name of Hari with a pure Aatma. Let go of this façade and always speak the truth. Sri Prabhoo ji will provide for you. The One nurtures all. Would he not give you food as well?” The Brahmin said: “without lying, one cannot make a living. Everyone worships façades. They can’t recognize the truth. The one who lies, people respect the façade. I do this to make a living. I can’t find the idol now.” Sri Guru ji said: “you were able to stop your mind and meditate on the 3 Loks. Where you were sitting, there was money buried there. If you knew everything, why did you not look there first? Dig the ground and look, if you can’t sense it.” The Brahmin heard about the money and got happy. He dug the ground where he was sitting. He was amazed to see a lot of money come out of the ground. He understood that Guru ji was omniscient. He was really happy. Guru ji laughed and said a Shabad:

Dhanasri Mahalla 1 Ghar 3..

Ik Oankaar Satgur Prasaad..

There is no time, there is no Jog, there is no way to speak the truth..

The places of the Ishts in the world are impure, the world is sinking..1..

In Kaliyuga the Naam of Raam is the greatest. .

You close your eyes and grab your nose to loot the world..1.. Rahao..

(SGGS 662)

Sri Guru ji said: “Listen Brahmin, these façades give pain in the end time. When the Jumms come, they beat your head with sticks. Just as the heron stands in a meditative pose, you sit in the same way, speaking words of Gyaan from your mouth. You do this to gather money. Your mind is engrossed in greed and wanders. This façade you do will give you pain in the end. In the time of Kaliyuga there is nothing greater than the Naam. The Teeraths of Devatas on the shores of rivers, without the Naam, the Seva is useless there. If you want Mukti during this time, engross your mind in the greatness of the Naam. Let go of the Pooja of façade. Let go of corruption and do the Simran of the Naam. Focus your mind in it, day and night. If you listen to me, you will be happy in both Loks. Ridhis and Siddhis will come into your hands.” The Brahmin folded his hands and said: “tell me oh Sant, who kept this treasure here? How did you see it? I am amazed at this. Tell me the whole story.” Guru ji uttered the 2nd Shabad:

Sri Mukhvaak..

They close off their nostrils with their fingers, and claim to see the three worlds.

But they cannot even see what is behind them. What a strange thing this is! ||2||

(SGGS 663)

Sri Prabhoo ji said: “listen Brahmin, don’t lie so much. You didn’t know what was in front or behind you. You say that you know what is happening in the 3 Loks.” The Brahmin said: “I was lying and pretending to do Bhagti. My way is a lie. I do this for the wish of money.” Guru ji said: “listen Brahmin, the ones who have truth in their hearts, they are omniscient. The beloved Bhagats of Hari, they don’t speak anything but know everything. The money of the world is all in the ground. Many have died saving money and burying it. Nobody took money with them to the afterlife. Nobody ate the money either. They couldn’t take it. It stayed buried in the ground. The food you ate, the water your drink, the clothes you wore, the age you spent; that is all you have. Gold and silver can’t be eaten. People bury the money and leave the earth. To make the tasks of the world work, this was the reason for money. Everyone works for money. The Sants and Bhagats that are pure-hearted, they know what is hidden and what is exposed. Where the millions and trillions of monies is, it remained buried in the ground. The Sants, the beloveds of Ram Parmeshwar, they know everything. Ram is in their hearts.” The Brahmin said: “the people of the world love money. They want money. They don’t know who Parmeshwar is. They are trapped in greed and attachment. They don’t follow their own Dharma.” Guru ji heard this and uttered the next Shabad:

The Kshatriyas have abandoned their religion, and have adopted the language of the Malaich..

The whole world has been reduced to the same caste; the state of righteousness and Dharma has been lost. ||3||

(SGGS 663)

“In the time of Kaliyuga, the Dharam is lost. The Kshatriyas and Brahmins do bad deeds. Both of them were the highest but hold the grave sins now. They became impure and let go of their Dharmas. They sell their daughters and eat the money. They earn sin with other women. They don’t read or teach. They speak the language of the Malaich to earn money. They are greedy for money and became unorthodox. Their minds are not focused. They are unjust. They like to slander good people. They speak nonsense during the Katha of Hari.” The Brahmin said: “listen Sant ji, oh Giver of Peace: in Kaliyuga, sin is everywhere. Every man does it without thinking of the infinite and finite. If there is another way other than the Naam, then please tell me. You are omnipotent and the Giver of Mukti.” Sri Guru ji then said:

Sri Mukhvaak..

They analyze the 18 chapters of the Puranas, they study the Vedas,

but without the name of Hari, there is no Mukti; so says Nanak the servant. ||4||1||6||8||

(SGGS 663)

The Brahmin folded his hands and bowed his head. He said: “please give me Mukti, oh Washer of the Sins. You are the complete saint, the Master of the World.” He placed his head on Guru ji’s feet. He renounced the pride of his caste. He focused on the feet of the Guru. He said: “please give me your wisdom. Keep the honour of who comes to your shelter.” Guru ji said: “the money that you have acquired with deceit, give it all to the poor. Let go of the corruption and chant the Naam with your pure heart. You will receive Mukti in this way. Chant Vahiguru and use the money you just found (which was enough for the Brahmin’s 7 generation). Let go of your vices. Your sins of the past have been washed away. Don’t do anymore sins now.” Guru ji gave back the Salagrama to the Brahmin and said: “you spoke lies because of the idol.” The Brahmin became a Sikh and was pure. He was happy and wrote many Shabads of Guru ji. In this way, Guru ji blessed the Brahmin and travelled on.

We arrived in a village where the people had bad wisdom. Where Guru ji sat down, the people of the village came laughing. They made us get up and leave. They didn’t let us sit anywhere else in their village. Guru ji said to them: “may you remain settled here.” We then went to another village. Guru ji sat in a nice place. The people of the village noticed that a saint had come. They came and bowed to Guru ji’s feet. They did the Seva of Satguru ji with love. They gave us a nice place to spend the night. Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji said: “this village will fall apart. The people of this village will go on to settle in different places. The village will be destroyed.” Bhai Mardana ji heard this and fell in doubt. He said: “where we weren’t allowed to sit, you blessed them to remain settled there; where you were served well, you cursed them with their village being destroyed. This is really unorthodox. I don’t understand this.” Guru ji said: “if the people of this village go on to settle in other places, they will spread their good wisdom to other people around the world. The Dharma will grow in this way. The people of the previous village, wherever they go, they will teach bad things and do bad deeds. They are corrupt themselves and will corrupt others. They are uprooting their peace in the afterlife. They are engrossed in greed and desires. They lie, day and night. They don’t serve saints, poor people or guests. They spend their day and night in vices and pleasures. They will be in pain in their end time.” Bhai Mardana ji said: “if it be your wish, then you can give them Mukti too.” Many people that were sitting there, Sri Guru ji uttered a Shabad in Raag Malaar:

Raag Malaar Chaupaday Mahalla 1 Ghar 1

Ik Oankaar Satnam Karta Purakh Nirbhao Nirvair Akaal Moorat Ajooni Saibhang Gurprasaad..

Eating, drinking, laughing and sleeping; the mortal has forgotten death. Forgetting the Lord and Master, the mortal is ruined. Such a life is cursed. Life cannot remain forever. ||1||

O mortal, meditate on the One Naam. You shall go to your true home with honor. ||1||Rahao||

Those who serve You - what can they give You? They beg for things and receive what cannot remain. You are the Great Giver of all Jeevs; You are the Life within all living beings. ||2||

The Gurmukhs meditate on you, and receive the Amrit; they become pure like this. Day and night, chant the Naam, O mortal. It makes the filthy, pure. ||3||

As is the season, such is the comfort of the body given, and so the body becomes like the season. O Nanak, that season is beautiful; without the Name, what good is the season? ||4||1||

(SGGS 1254)

The people heard the Shabad and became the Sikhs of the Satguru. They did the Simran of Vahiguru and destroyed the vices from their hearts. Prabhoo ji then took leave and went to a new place. He dispelled hypocrisies, destroyed the problems and made his servants happy. He was the Pranas of his servants.
