Oh Satguru ji, cut my chains of attachment and board me onto your boat of Naam. Sail me across so my life is a success. Do it without delay.

Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..

Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, listen to the Katha of Prahlaad ji as he said it to me: “when Haranakash, my father, heard about the Upasana of Vishnu, he got angry, like fire. He was egotistical and wanted to kill me. He spoke poisonous words to me: “foolish child, there is no Ishwar other than me! Tell me where he is or else I will cut your head off.” He took out his sword from its sheath. It shined in the light. He said: “who is your protector? Tell me. I will send you to the home of the Jumms.” I heard this and said: “he is omnipotent and omnipresent. He is everywhere. There is no place without him. The non-sentient and sentient, he resides in both. In the non-sentient, he is there.” My father said: “if he exists in the non-sentient places, he should be in this pillar as well. I don’t see him. Foolish child, you speak nonsense! I will cut your head off now.” I was determined and stayed standing. The pillar was heated to a red hot colour. I said: “Vishnu is there but you can’t see him. Your wisdom is weak.” My father got angry and looked towards the pillar. He hit the pillar with the hilt of his sword, really hard. A very loud and scary noise came from the pillar. It was so loud that it seemed as though the whole universe ripped apart. The sound was heard in different dimensions. Brahma heard it in his dimension. Everyone got scared and thought the Parlo was coming. The people in the court became deaf. Some fell over in fear, hearing the loud noise. The Daynts lost the awareness of themselves. The scary noise echoed everywhere. Haranakash was surprised at the loud noise as it was just his hilt that hit the pillar. Nobody saw anything. My father picked up his sword again, to kill me. At that point, the pillar ripped apart and then Hari appeared, showing his form. He was not human nor lion. He was huge and radiant. He was lion from the top half and human from the bottom half. He was the “Narsingh.” The Master of the Universe ripped the pillar and came roaring through. It was an amazing form. The King of the Daynts saw him and wondered who it was. He was so big and scary. My father got scared and trembled. He couldn’t figure out what he was looking at. Sri Narsingh roared out loud. He opened his wide mouth and roared many times. His teeth were ferocious. My father got scared seeing this. He lost his patience. Narsingh’s eyes were red; his tongue was like a sword. It was the Destroyer of Pain. The colour of his body was like burning gold. His ears were high. His mouth was like a cave. His eyebrows were like bows. His mane was scarier than a cloud. He made his body even bigger, touching the Heavens. His chest was wide. His waist was thin. His arms were huge. His nails were long and scary. They were stronger than the Vajjar. His body was solid. The Daanavs ran away. The king of the Daynts knew that he had to fight now. He picked up his gurj and became proud. He was strong. He gathered his courage and patience. He came in front of Sri Narsingh ji. It was like a carefree elephant coming. He swung his gurj, really hard, but Narsingh stopped it. Haranakash swung again and Narsingh grabbed him like Garud catching a snake with no difficulty. Haranakash used his strength to gain freedom. He began to wrestle Narsingh. Narsingh played with Haranakash as he tried to wrestle. He released himself and thought he did it himself. Narsingh roared. The Devatas got scared seeing this. They were afraid for Narsingh. They doubted the Prabhoo. They saw Haranakash as strong. What they didn’t know was that Narsingh was playing with Haranakash like Garuda lets the snake go sometimes. The Devatas didn’t know what was going on. Haranakash took his sword and shield and yelled. Sri Narsingh ji roared. The roar made the sky and land tremble. He grabbed Haranakash like a snake catches a frog by the neck. Haranakash suffered. Narsingh grabbed him tight. He took him to the doorway of the court. It was evening. He made Haranakash sit on his thigh and said: “look! It’s not night nor day. You’re not on land nor sky. I am not a human nor an animal. I have no weapon. You are not inside nor outside. I am not made by Brahma’s creation.” Sri Bhagavan ji ripped the abdomen of Haranakash with his nails. He killed him in an instant. They were not inside nor outside. It was not day nor night. It was not the ground nor the sky. He killed him with something that was not alive nor dead. He was not born of Brahma’s creation. Bhagvan came out of the pillar. Sri Narsingh had fulfilled Brahma’s boon. He killed the Daynt that gave pain to the Bhagats. He ripped his abdomen with anger. Bhagvan’s face was open like the mouth of death. His body was wet with blood. He looked radiant with the colour red. He took out my father’s intestines and put them around his neck. His anger was beyond tolerance and would not calm down.

The Daanavs that had run away, they came back to fight. They were all killed by the nails of Sri Narsingh ji. He killed them all with one strike. His anger was still not calm. He shook his mane. Black clouds came into the sky and went to their dimensions. Prabhoo roared with all his might. The whole universe became anxious. The vessels of the Devatas broke apart. The stars broke and fell. The earth felt pain with Sri Narsingh ji’s feet. The radiance was too much. No Daanav remained there. Everyone was killed by his nails. He went to Haranakash’s throne and sat on it. The Devatas showered flowers onto Narsingh ji. Brahma, Shiv ji and others came to meet Sri Narsingh ji. Sidhs, Pittars, Yakshas, Rishis, Jachs, Devatas, Kubair, Scholars, Gandharvs, Kinnars and others all came to see Parmeshwar’s ferocious form. They were all scared to see him. They couldn’t look at him, it was so scary. They couldn’t come in front of him. They stood far away with their hands folded. Brahma, Shiva and the immortal Devatas sang his praises with bliss: “Jai Jai Jai Tav Sri Jag Sai – victorious is the Master. Namo Namo Trai Lokan Rai - we bow to the king of the 3 Loks. Namo Namo Bhagtan Dukh Khandan - we bow to the destroyer of the pain of the Bhagats. Jai Jai Jai Dharni ke Mandan – victory to the protector of the earth. These Daanavs gave pain to the Bhagats. They defeated us all and kicked the weak out. You killed the strong one. You killed him without any effort. Your anger is radiant. The 3 Loks are afraid of you. Oh compassionate one. Calm down and make everyone fearless.” Brahma ji looked towards Rama (Lakshmi) and said: “calm his anger down. Erase the anxiety of the world.” Lakshmi came close to Sri Narsingh but returned back. She said to Brahma: “I have never seen or heard him like this. This is a very scary form of his. I can’t take his radiance. I am scared to see him.”

Listen Guru Angad Dev ji to the Katha of Prahlaad ji of how he said it to me: “the Devatas came to me and spoke with a lot of love: “go close to Sri Narsingh ji. Calm his anger down. His anger is too much.” I heard them. I wasn’t afraid. I went to Bhagvaan and grabbed his feet. I bowed to him lying on the floor like a stick. When Sri Narsingh ji saw me, lying at his feet, fearless. The Master then picked me up and put his hand on my head. He kissed my forehead with love. I then praised the Master of the Universe as I had a deep love for him. My eyes shed tears in love, seeing him. I said: “you are the lover of the Bhagats. You are the Parbrahm Swami. You are the friend of the weak. You are the omniscient Prabhoo. Brahma and the other Devatas cannot know your greatness, even a little bit. You have the Para (Brahm Vidya) and Apra (other than Brahm Vidya) Vidya. They all call you infinite. I was born a Daanav, what can I know? I don’t know anything else. I have recognized that you are difficult to impress but you can’t see your Bhagats in pain. A Brahmin with the 10 virtues who does not do Bhagti cannot impress you but a Chandaal, not having the 10 virtues; when he does Bhagti with love all the time, he is more beloved to you. I have understood this with deep thought. You only love Bhagti. Yagna, donations, Tapp, Dharma, Sat, Sam (controlling the mind), Dam (controlling the Indrees), patience, tolerance, calm, without jealousy; these are the 10 virtues. Being born in the family of Brahmins and filled with ego; without Bhagti his 10 virtues are sins. Being born in the low caste, leaving the ego and doing your Bhagti, doing the Seva of your great feet, that person is pure and destroys the sins of others as well.” The Master of the Tribhuvan (3 worlds) heard my request and calmed his anger down. He spoke to me with love and calmness: “Prahalad, you are a complete Bhagat. You have absolutely no fault. Ask for a boon that is in your heart. There is nothing that I can’t give you.” I heard this and then said: “destroy my desires oh Parmeshwar. The good desires of doing your Bhagti, that is what I wish for. The one who does your Bhagti for wishes, that person is like a merchant.” Sri Nar Hari said to me: “oh Bhagat, I am the great giver. I know that you have no desires. If you ask for something, I will be happy. Ask for a boon. It is my command that you ask for something. You are my beloved.” I folded my hands and obeyed. I said: “if it is your compassion, may all of my desires burn away. I wish for my Bhagti to be always in love with your feet.” I bowed to him many times and grabbed his feet. The Parmeshwar was happy. He spoke with love: “you will always be still. You will have the bliss of both worlds. You will experience it without sorrow or doubt. You are to become the king of the Daanavs. I want you to rule for a very long time. You are my Shiromani Bhagat. You are the greatest Bhagat. Ego and desire won’t be able to touch you.” The Master said this to me and then I bowed my head to Bhagvan’s feet. I said to him: “my father was a great sinner and had a filthy mind. He slandered you and became your enemy. Oh Deen Dayal, please bless him and forgive his sins. He was your enemy and hated you. He spoke harsh words for you because he was unwise. He was a complete sinner, filled with all the vices. Without any reason he bothered the people of the world. Your way is amazing in the world that you save the poor and purify the sinners. Forgive him and give him Mukti. Don’t leave any one of his sins in your heart.” Sri Narsingh ji became compassionate and spoke while laughing: “in the family that is born such a servant of mine, you did my Bhagti with determination and without fear; is there any doubt that your father will not be Mukat? I have blessed the 21 generations of yours.” After saying this, he made me ascend the Royal Throne. He blessed me with Vivek and knowledge. The great Sri Narsingh ji disappeared right before our eyes. That same Prabhoo has now come in Kaliyuga. He took on an Avatar as a Bhagat because the people of Kaliyuga are big sinners. He has come to show the people the righteous path. He saw me as his servant and gave me his Darshan. He is the one who saved me as Narsingh. Now I see his form again. This is my Katha, oh wise Bala.”

Listen Sri Guru Angad Dev ji, when I heard the whole Katha from Prahalad ji, I folded my heads and bowed to him. His glory was the greatest of all the Bhagats. For a long time, Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji stayed there and spoke with Prahlaad ji. When we were leaving, they both bowed to each other. The Destroyer of Pain then headed on forwards.
