The feet of Sri Guru ji are the form of Love. They are like two beautiful swans. Come to the ocean of my mind. Destroy my vices and illuminate virtues.
Sri Bala Sandhur Vaach..
Mata Sulakhani ji saw everything uprooting. She called a servant and spoke to him. She sent him to her father's home. When Baba Mool Chand ji heard from the servant, he came to Sultanpur right away. He thought many things which were utter nonsense. He was in a deep pain in his mind. He took his Pandit, Pandit Shyaam, along with him. He met his daughter with love. He was quite anxious and upset. He sat down with his daughter. Mata Sulakhani ji said: "my husband has become a Fakir. He has renounced the home. He gave away the money. He spent 3 days in the river. After 3 days he came to the shore. The water did not affect him. He then had the shop looted. He is sitting in the cemetery. He doesn't speak to or listen to anyone." Listening to his daughter, Baba Moola ji became angry. His eyes were red and his lips were quivering. He spoke harsh words from his mouth. When he heard that Guru ji gave all of the money away, he couldn't tolerate that. He shook his head and walked towards where the Crown of the Bedis was sitting, looking radiant.
Baba Moola ji came to Guru Nanak Dev ji and spoke harsh words: "you were born to destroy your family! You burn the chest of your parents. Your father told me that you used to give away money as a child. You destroyed his wealth. I didn't see your character with my eyes. I followed Jai Ram and married my daughter to you. I have been in pain ever since. I have never been happy since my daughter has been married." Guru Nanak Dev ji regarded his father-in-law as his father and stayed quiet. Baba Moola spoke harsh words. He was upset. He came back to his daughter's home. He did not know that Guru ji was the Parmeshwar. His chest was burning with anger. He kept thinking many things. Without seeing Guru ji as omnipotent, he was upset. The Brahmin, in whose company he would sit, he sat with him and told him his pain. He cried, seeing his daughter and said: "I have not been happy for even one day. Since I married my daughter off, I have been in pain. He is sitting in the cemetery. He left his home and work. He left my daughter." Shyaam Pandit heard the words of anxiety and got up. He said: "let's go and speak to your son-in-law." They both went back to the cemetery.
The Gem of the Bedis, was the destroyer of pain. He came to Earth to punish the hypocrites. Baba Moola came with the Pandit to the cemetery. They both sat near Guru ji and said to him: "you are like a child. You do childish things. You quit the great work of the Modi. You didn't think of this. You renounced the honour of your parents and took on a form of a Fakir. You are sitting in this impure cemetery. You are sitting here in joy." Guru ji heard the Pandit. Guru ji, the Master of the Universe uttered a Shabad in Basant Raag as it was spring:
Basant Hindol Mahalla 1..
The king (mind) is a child, the city is raw/fragile (body), the friends (vices) are corrupt, whom he loves..
There are 2 mothers (Avidhya and Maya) and 2 fathers (Ishwar and Jeev), Pandit, think about this..1..
Oh Pandit, I will give you the wisdom of the Master.. How will one attain the Master of the Pranas..1..Rahao..
(SGGS 1171)
The mind is the king. It is always wandering and cannot sit still. That is how the mind is. The wisdom of the Gyaan form, it does not listen to it. It does not accept it. It is stuck on the play of the pleasures. It lives in this raw and fragile body. The body can be destroyed today or tomorrow. It sees the body as everlasting and loves it. When the rain of death comes, the body will be destroyed. It happens all of a sudden, just like raw mud houses are destroyed by rain. When the child understands this, he will regret it. He only loves the 5 corrupt ones, who always spoil his tasks. Lust, anger, greed, attachment and the mighty ego; he becomes their friend but they destroy him. He keeps meeting them and becomes anxious. Those 5 thieves loot his city (body) day and night. The Ishwar, Master is inside. The Mind child doesn't understand how much damage he is taking. He keeps meeting the 5 thieves. His mothers are Avidya and Maya. Ish and Jeev are the fathers (of the mind) who gave him birth. They gave him birth because of crookedness. What would they fix for him? Think about this wisdom and tell me. Attain the Prabhoo." Guru ji then went quiet. Baba Moola ji then spoke: "if this is the ideology you had, why did you get married then? You gave me pain. You gave away your money and destroyed your shop. You didn't think about giving anything to your wife or son. Without shame, you left your home and family. You ran away." Guru ji then spoke:
Sri Mukhvaak:
Vegetation flourishes with fire inside it, the ocean is in a bundle, stuck to the earth..
The moon (Vairagya) and sun (Vivek) are in the one home, but this Gyaan (of the Parmeshwar) has not been achieved..2..
(SGGS 1171)
The mind has the fire of desire. Just as fire is never satisfied and keeps burning, the desire is never satiated. Desire asks for 100 and then 1,000. It then asks for 100,000 and then millions. Even billions upon trillions are not enough. Think about this in your mind. Does the mind ever find satiation? The Sumer Mountain is like a rye seed. The stomach of desire is vast, like the sky. The vegetation are the leaves and branches. Woman, daughter, son, in-laws, relatives are the body. As the age grows, the relations grow. Day and night, one's mind gets caught in this. One can't escape from this. One is stuck their whole life. The ocean Parmeshwar lives in the body. The one who listens to the Guru, they attain the Parmeshwar. That person receives Mukti. The moon and sun are in the body. The moon is the detachment and the Sun is the wisdom. When Brahmgyaan is achieved, one sees the illumination everywhere. The lotus is upside down in the belly button. How can Gyaan illuminate in the heart? When the mind is straightened, standing in front of the Guru, the Gyaan comes. The Agyaan is destroyed. This Gyaan cannot be achieved without the Guru. The darkness has covered the Gyaan." Sri Guru ji then went quiet. The Pandit then spoke: "do the Simran of Ram and continue your work. It doesn't matter if you're in the home or the jungle. The Ram will protect you everywhere. Ram is in the land and in the water. He knows all life forms, no matter where they are." Guru ji then spoke the 3rd Padh:
Sri Mukhvaak..
Ram living in all creation, is known by the union of Maya and thereby detaching from it..
The person is known (to be attained) by having forgiveness; gathering this as wealth..3..
(SGGS 1171)
Ram exists in all. These properties are known: the one who gives money to all and does not love it (money), this is who the Brahmgyaani is. The good virtues, such as forgiveness and others, one collects these. It is the same in the home and the jungle. He knows the Ram, as being omnipresent." Baba Mool Chand ji then said: "he his stubborn. He is crazy. I don't understand what he is saying. He says what he thinks of. He doesn't listen to anyone. Pandit, what are you speaking to him about? Stop talking to him. Let's go home. You came because of me but this one is stubborn. He won't listen to us." Guru ji then spoke to give wisdom. He said the 4th Padh of the Shabad to take away the pain of the Sikhs:
Sri Mukhvaak..
The ones who don't listen to what is said and don't accept what is consumed, they live in the Jeev..
Prays Nanak, become the servant of the servant, in one instant the mind is a Tola; in another instant it is Massa..4..
(SGGS 1171)
One is a slave of the Indriyas (senses) who don't listen to anyone. They don't listen to wisdom. They want pleasure. They only want to sense pleasure. The eyes are never satiated of seeing pleasurable sights. The ears are not satiated listening to various Raags. The nose is not satiated by pleasant fragrances. The tongue is not tired of great tastes. The skin wishes to touch softness. The Indriyas live in these pleasures all the time. The Jeev lives in these Indriyas. It consumes all this and doesn't accept what has been consumed. It wants new things. They always live in pleasures. Listen Brahmin, become the servant of the servant of Hari. The bonds will be broken. They achieve the bliss. The mind is never in a single state. It receives objects and becomes heavy like a Tola. When it loses it, it becomes sad and empty like a Massa. Make the effort to make it better. Do what is best for the Jeev in this world. They are saved then." The Pandit heard this and folded his hands. He bowed to Guru ji's feet. He realized that this was the form of the Parmeshwar. He hadn't seen such a wise person before. Guru ji saw the humility of the Pandit. He blessed him with his sight. The great bonds of attachment of the world, they were instantly broken for the Pandit.
Baba Moola got upset and went to the village. He was in deep pain. He was surprised. He stayed with his daughter for a few days. He didn't go back home. Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was still in the cemetery. There were many graves and pyres burning. He sat there cross-legged. The wise people who knew Guru ji's greatness, came to bow to Guru ji. In this way, Guru ji lived in the Cemetery.
After 3 months, Baba Lakhmi Das ji was born. 1553 Vikram was the year. The whole family was happy. Mata Sulakhani ji was like the eastern sun. Her face was happy. Baba Sri Chand ji was like the sun, Baba Lakhmi Das ji was like the moon. A servant came to Guru Nanak Dev ji to give him the news of his second son's birth. Guru ji was in a single state. Pleasure and sorrow were the same to him. Guru ji didn't step foot in Sultanpur. He loved the jungle. He stayed there, day and night. There were many pyres there. The dead were being saved. The reason for Guru ji being there was to give Mukti to the dead that were buried there.
Guru Nanak Dev ji kept repeating from his mouth: "there is no Hindu, nor is there Muslim. Nobody is a Hindu or a Muslim. These are all false names people call themselves." Some people came close to Guru ji and heard this. They went to the village and told others. The Qazi heard about this. He disguised himself and went to see for himself. Some people went with him. They saw Guru ji sitting down and saying: "there is no Hindu. There is no Muslim." The Qazi came close and sat down next to Guru ji. He said to Guru ji: "how are you saying this? There is no Hindu or Muslim in this world? How would we know that? Wherever we look, we see Hindus and Muslims. I have doubts about what you say. Answer my question after thinking about this." Many people were gathered near Guru ji. There was a crowd there, all around. Guru ji gave his Darshan to the humble. The ones who came with faith, Guru ji destroyed their pains. The Lotus-bodied One heard the Qazi's words. Guru ji was the destroyer of bad wisdom and the giver of joy. Guru ji said Saloks for the unwise:
Salok M:1..
To call yourself Mussalman is difficult, if one is true, then he can call himself Mussalman..
Firstly, the saints, see their religion as sweet; destroy your ego by scrubbing it with Vivek..
Becoming a true Muslim, a disciple of the Prophet, let him put aside the delusion of death and life..
Accept the will of the Lord on your head; accept the Lord's way and let go of your delusion of the self..
Then, Nanak, when the Lord is compassionate, when these virtues are present, one is called a Mussalman..1
(SGGS 141)
Salok M: 1..
Let mercy be the Mosque, faith your prayer mat and the honest living, the Quran..
Make modesty your circumcision and good conduct your fast. This will make you a Mussalman..
Let the good deeds be the Kaaba, truth your Peer; your karma the Nimaaz…
Your Tasbih (Mala) should be your calmness that impresses the Lord. Nanak, the Lord will protect your honour..1..
(SGGS 140)
M:1..
The Hindus have forgotten the root Parmeshwar, they are decreasing..
Just as Naarad said, they worship the idols (but do not apply their focus)..
They are blind and mute, they are in darkness..
The uncivilized fools worship the stones..
When the stone sinks, how will they carry you across..2..
(SGGS 556)
The Mussalman and Hindu, see them as so: they don't do good deeds. Their names are a lie. Both are wandering in the jungles, forgetting Bhagti. How will they reach the place of bliss?" The Qazi was embarrassed to hear this, like a firefly in front of the sun. He stayed quiet. He didn't give an answer. He got up and came home. The wise praised Guru ji. The unwise slandered him. The fools did not bow. Guru ji showed everyone Prema Bhagti. He stayed in the cemetery.
Bhai Bhageerath was with Guru ji, doing his Darshan. Bhai Mansukh ji came with love. They were drenched in the colour of Naam. They folded their hands and bowed like a stick. Guru ji said: "Sat Kartaar." He asked how the Sikhs were. The Sikhs sat near Guru ji with faith. Bhai Mansukh Shah ji was emotional and couldn't speak. Bhai Mansukh ji said to the light of the Bedis: "I am happy to see you. All my pains are gone. I am going to a foreign land. I wish for your permission. I am going for business. I am taking a lot of commodities to sell them. I am going to Sangladeep on a ship. I will be gone for a long time. I will be separated from you for a long time. Please give me words of bliss. I will write them and read them everyday. I want my love for your feet to grow." The destroyer of poverty said beautiful words which had the glory of the Sri Kartaar in them. The words had Bhagti and Vairagya. Bhai Mansukh ji wrote all of the Bani down. He read it and was filled with love. Guru ji then said: "bathe in the morning at 2 am. Let go of your laziness and bathe. You will be rewarded by reciting this Bani with your focused attention. You will see the form of Parmeshwar. When the sun comes up, make Prashaad. Do Ardaas and then distribute the Prashaad. Eat it yourself after. When the sun is up, do your business with focus. In the evening, recite this Shabad again. Keep your mind drenched in Bhagti. When you are stuck in a big task, do the Simran of the Satguru, the giver of joy. Your task will be fulfilled." Bhai Mansukh Shah ji heard this and bowed. He went to Sangladeep.
Bhai Bhageerath ji was sitting there. Guru ji gave him permission to go back to his village: "do the Simran of Parmeshwar."
